Spalted apple
€75.00 +VAT
This spalted apple wood piece is a stunning example of woodworking craftsmanship, characterized by its distinctive grain patterns and the unique spalting process that gives the wood its rich and varied appearance. Spalting occurs when the wood is exposed to certain fungi, which create dark contrasting lines and colors in the wood, often resulting in a marbled or veined effect.
Apple wood is known for its fine, smooth grain, and it takes finishes exceptionally well, resulting in a beautifully polished surface, as seen in this piece. The natural warm tones of the apple wood are enhanced by the spalting, creating a visually striking piece that is both functional and decorative.
The piece seems to have been carefully turned and finished, with attention to detail evident in the smooth, even surface and the preservation of the wood’s natural character. The bottom of the piece has been marked with the maker’s logo, indicating it as a handcrafted item from FJK Woodworks & Woodturning, further adding to its value as a unique, artisanal product.
This spalted apple piece could serve as a decorative platter or shallow bowl, making it a perfect centerpiece for display in a home or office, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood while also reflecting the skill of the woodturner.
This piece is 200mm wide x 45mm high.
